Adrian Appiolaza Is Moschino’s New Creative Director

Adrian Appiolaza has assumed the role of creative director at Moschino, set to unveil his inaugural collection for the fashion house during Milan Fashion Week on February 22. The showcase will take place at the Museo Della Permanente, a location that holds historical significance as Franco Moschino commemorated the brand’s 10th anniversary with an exhibition titled “Moschino: X Anni di Kaos! 1983–1993” in 1993.

Reporting to Massimo Ferretti, the chairman of Moschino’s parent company, Aeffe S.p.A, Appiolaza previously served as the women’s design director at Loewe for a decade. Before that, he held the same position under Clare Waight Keller at Chloé. His career also includes roles with Phoebe Philo at Chloé, Miu Miu, and Marc Jacobs during the latter’s tenure at Louis Vuitton.

Expressing delight in welcoming Appiolaza to the Aeffe family, Ferretti stated, “I was immediately struck by the explosive creativity of Adrian, a personality full of energy and enthusiasm, elements that have always distinguished the history of the Moschino brand.”

Appiolaza’s appointment follows the sudden passing of Davide Renne, who was hired by Moschino to replace Jeremy Scott last year. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, Appiolaza’s artistic vision is expected to guide Moschino towards a bright and successful future. “I am ready to transport Moschino into a new chapter,” he commented, emphasizing his intent to do so “with a theatrical touch, in the pure style of Moschino.”
